Susie has worked in the education sector for over 20 years, both for the Local Authority where she supported secondary schools with behaviour and attendance and now in her role as a member of the Leadership Team for Bradley Stoke Community School in South Gloucestershire where she has worked for 12 years. Susie has leadership responsibility for behaviour, attendance, pastoral care, SEND, parental engagement and leads safeguarding across the Olympus Academy Trust. She is also a designated Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) for Behaviour and Attendance.
Susie’s background is not as a teacher; she previously worked within social care, supporting young people in the care system and those who were out of education for a number of years before joining the education sector. She is passionate about the Every Child Matters agenda, developing alternatives to exclusion and anti-bullying work and continues to support other schools through her SLE work within the Multi-Academy Trust.
Attachment aware practice was introduced to the school by Susie and Jacqui Gallagher in 2016 and continues to form part of staff induction, on-going staff training and approaches to student support and intervention.
